Principal and Teacher Meryll Faulkner has over 20 years experience as a Professional Makeup Artist and Educator.

Her Makeup School was established in Sydney in 1997 and is now relocated to Kiama South of Wollongong in NSW. Making Faces Makeup Studio has gained a credible reputation amongst the Beauty and Makeup industry due to achieving many Fashion and Bridal Make-up awards. Meryll also regularly attends master classes locally and overseas, where techniques and trends are continuously updated to ensure clients and students are always provided with the very best service and knowledge.

What our Makeup Lessons can offer

At Making Faces we have a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge. To assist students in building their confidence, we offer ongoing support and work experience. All workshops are delivered by Meryll Faulkner and are conducted in classes of 4 for maximum personal attention. The classes are fun, comprehensive and are very hands on, with time allocated for discussion as well as theory.

Personal Makeup Lesson

Our hands on technique will not only show you how to create a perfect look but you will also make up your own face with our guidance.

Personal Use Makeup Lesson Duration: Two hours by appointment

Meryll Faulkner, from Making Faces Makeup Studio is a four times makeup artist of the year, has 20-plus years experience as a professional makeup artist and educator.

A Personal Makeup lesson with Meryll is suitable for all ages 14 yrs and up. It’s a great way to discover how to apply your own makeup like a professional! You will learn simple techniques on how to create a flawlessly day natural makeup and then how to change the look into a stunning look perfect for evening.

Your one-on-one lesson with our expert makeup artist will begin with looking at some products that you currently have in your very own makeup bag and deciding whether or not they stay or go! If you are in need of new makeup items we can also assist you in selecting and purchasing products that are suitable and easy for you to use. Our preferred products are by Atelier, made in France with natural pigments and enriched with vitamins. View their product range online.

Once we have looked at the recommended products to keep and use we will then show you how to create your perfect look. This includes guiding you through how to apply products to your own face so that you can start testing out your new skills! This is a practical and fun way to learn, with hands-on techniques and tips that you can use once your makeup lesson is complete.

Makeup notes together with a personalized chart is prepared and given.

This specialised service is offered at our beautiful studio is based in Kiama, on the south coast of NSW, just a half an hour drive from Wollongong.

Bridal, Glamour and Photographic Short Course

Classes provide valuable information and a hands on approach giving the student with specialised makeup skills to be confident in Glamour, Photographic and Bridal Makeup design.

Cost $800

Courses are conducted in small a group for maximum personal attention. The Duration of this course is 6 modules during a three day block Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 9.30 to 4.30pm. Classes are kept to a maximum of 4 students for maximum personal attention. Classes are hands on and full of valuable information providing the student with the specialised makeup skills to be confident in Glamour, Photographic and Bridal Makeup design. The training also assist students in establishing themselves as professional in the makeup industry. Students receive a Certificate, training manual, and a written assessment of their work.

Please note that all brushes and accessories used during the course are supplied. Students do not have to purchase these items before starting the class. Models are required as students do not work on each other.
